I’m Samantha Gehrmann, the maker and photographer behind Wattle and Weft. From my rural Australian home, I spin yarns and weave textiles by hand. Each piece crafted slowly from natural, luxurious fibres that honour the art of mindful making.
I draw inspiration from the wattle and eucalypt, the rustle of leaves, the little birds that flit about our garden, and the quiet hum of everyday life. My studio is filled with looms, spinning wheels, and the joyful chaos of family and it is where each thread becomes a story of home and connection.
Through Wattle and Weft, I create small-batch hand spun yarns and handwoven textiles meant to be treasured and loved. Alongside my weaving, I’m also a photographer, capturing the raw, emotive beauty of the everyday.
Among these pages, you’ll find stories, photographs, and pieces of my world.
